Heat shield

JEGS High Performance - K&N GM TPI Throttle Body Chrome Cone Air Filter

Allright, I hear this thing is a pos becuase all it does is suck hot air from the radiator, what If u fabed some kind of heat shield that redirects all the heat to the sides or threw a cowl? Like make a heat shield so that the radiators heat does not effect the intake, or like could u run duc work from the filter to were the stock itake on a z28 is were it goes down to the front facia I guess u could call it that lol, idk. Or has anyone fabed a hood scoop that dips down to were the filter is exposed and gets cold air from outside, Im just brain storming bunch of things that prob wouldent work, lol.

Heat shield wont do anything. Will still suck in hot engine bay air.

Now if someone had a functional hood scoop, that had a duct directing air to an air box around that filter, you might see some gains on the highway.

Stock camaro intake is very good, not so good on the T/A's

This is just the flat cone shaped filter that sticks directly out the throttle body? I can't see how it could be any worse than the round filters people use on carbs all the time.

And the stock TPI filters were mounted right on top of the radiator so if there was every any worry about heat from the radiators, I think you'd have seen it. It's probably better to mount near the radiator than near the block itself I would think.

I figured out a reasonably-efficient way to get cold air into my GTA's L98, & described it in this post...
