LT1 OBD2 motor, want to run EDIS to lose the Opti
I am thinking about switching to Megasquirt for my ECM, and at the same time I'm thinking i will dump the opti for some distributorless ignition. The cheapest way I see of doing this is with Ford's EDIS. I can control it with Megasquirt no prob. My LT1 is out of a 96TA, so it has the crank trigger. I hear it's only has 4 holes/notches which I guess won't give the resolution that the 36 tooth EDIS would.. Wondering if anyone has pictures of under the timing cover, or if anyone has ideas for mounting a 36tooth trigger on the LT1.
Optionally if anyone has other ideas like LS1 stuff.. EDIA is like $50 and Optidirect is like $400 (assuming u have 4 coils)
