solid trans mount.
im building an 82 camaro for the street/strip. i have a 383 stroker with a 700r4 behind it. i had to move my x-member back like 2 inches. so whilw i was at it i decided to fab it up a little bit. i took the upper plate off of the x-member and welded a 1/4 " plate in place of it. i also made a solid trans mount. i used 2'' square tube 1/8'' wall. i drilled 2 holes the spread of the holes in the trans for the mount. i drilled the other side of the wall big enough for the socket to go through. then drilled a .380 hole between the 2 holes. i put a shcs (3/8-16) through the hole and welded the head inside the tube. i was just wondering if anyone had ever used a solid mount......and how it worked out.

Use a polyurethane mount. Solid mounts are for tube chassis cars.
I use a front motor plate and still use a polyurethane transmission mount. Solid mounts will work but you really risk breaking the tailshaft housing.

dont use a solid trans mount, first the noise in the car will suck, then you will break either the bell housing or the extension housing on the trans. I dont recommend ever using a solid trans mount, except on a full tube car, and usually they have engine plates front and rear, so the engine is a stressed member of the chassis, and they are far more resistant to flexing.
