My chevy tbi project
I know its not an f-body but its a third gen
I thought I would share a little bit about my project if anyone cares. I have gotton alot of useful information from this site. Its a 1989 Supra, orig. it was a straight 6 N/A with a 5spd. The motor went bad, so I decided to make it a project car. So a sbc is alot cheaper to build and is easy enough to make decent power without alot of work. The motor came out of a 95 1500 with alot of miles. Got a wiring harness and tbi off a G20 van. So we rebuilt it back stock because we are using the tbi. I wanted to be able to get it running and driviable before I learn how to tune chips. But I did do a little port work on the heads & stock intake manifold while they where off, yep there 193's. As for exhaust it has shorty block huggers with dual 2 1/4 tube back to a single 2 in 2 out chambered muffler. Got that done we rebuild a 700r4 with a shift improver kit, corvette servo, ext. It still has the stock rearend with a low 4.10-4.30 gear. 1rst gear is almost usless. Its fun to drive, can't wait till it warms up a little gonna take it to the 1/8th mile track near by. I'm hoping to maybe be run near the time a stock tbi 350 camaro can. And does anyone have an idea of what they run stockish in the 1/8? And here is a youtube vid of it. What ya'll think.
