Bubbas loose at the Walmart in his 4x4 Bird
Saw this at Wally world in GA this weekend. Looks like it was done correctly with fancy shocks and all. Poor girl

Re: Bubbas loose at the Walmart in his 4x4 Bird
Maybe I should turn one of my DT500's into one but my 85 silver 4X4 is a long bed. I will just have to stretch my 78 Cutlass and make it fit. Hold on there, I think I'll just leave it as a truck.

No It just proves the media wrong. with all the controversy with big chain stores destroying our towns... It just shows Walmart clearly has it's loyal customers.

I'd love to do that to a wrecked Camaro. Wouldn't rip apart a good one to do it though. I agree though, that Firebird does look sad.

I've always wondered if I could fit a 4wd setup under one, and keep it stock looking. Add some power and spend some money on the transfer case/trans and you may be onto something.

I don't think it would fit very well under the floor. Trucks have a frame they can throw a t case between, F-bodies don't. Read another thread about this, they were saying that maybe you could take a similar wheelbased truck and hang the Camaro or Firebird body around it.

that would be illegal to drive in my area
Re: Bubbas loose at the Walmart in his 4x4 Bird
Really an AWD one would be better, the 4wd wouldnt serve much of a performance (go fast, race) mod. THe lack of ability to launch it without possibly damaging something on the dry pavement.

Im pretty sure if you are lifting a firebird on like 35"s, the last thing you plan for it is "going fast and racing," all you are gonna want to do is bog, bog, and more bog.

I will give it a good home - about 10 miles into the powerlines, sunk in the mud!

could you imagine what the investment redirected into some normal restoration or modifications would look like? To each is his own, but I would like to have the funds spent on that directed into my project car.

Those cars are probably alot less of an investemnt than you think...
If you watch the local craigslist, you can find cheap solid body f-cars with a blown motor, or something, for less than $500 all the time. Then, you can also find cheap K5 Blazers or K10 pickups with 4wd, solid front axle, for just as cheap, with rotted bodys. Take the frame off the truck, body of the car, and use some rhedneck welding / fab skills, any scrap metal you have lying around the yard, and alot of beer, and you end up with a 4wd camaro for cheep...

Re: Bubbas loose at the Walmart in his 4x4 Bird
You would have thought that after all that work to make it a 4x4 they would have at least fixed the headlights so that they close.
Re: Bubbas loose at the Walmart in his 4x4 Bird
Such a travesty. I am a Pontiac man at heart, but I am a muscle car fan overall. Yesterday I saw this done to a 71 Challenger. I almost cried. Stop it people. The factories made them this way for a reason.
