Re: question, gear indicator

probably need to rig up 6 momentary push button switches under the console, one for each gear and reverse so the stick hits it. them make some kind of a digital display on the dash to display the gear, would nee a primitive computer too. I think its more work that its worth, its not really that hard to keep track of what gear you are in.

Re: question, gear indicator

It exsts. A vendor at the 2007 SEMA show was displaying such a product. I'll have to dig through my bag of literature from the show.

Re: question, gear indicator

Dakota Digital makes a variety of them, to include complete kits.

Re: question, gear indicator

I'm making my own right now for my T5 with a hurst shifter. Prototype is done and works great, just waiting for the warm weather to do the final install.

My setup displays the gear you're in on a seven segment display placed where the cigarette lighter goes. I also made it into a digital shift light for a little more functionality, blinking the gear display at the rpm of your choice.

I'm using 4 switches for the 5 gears and reverse, with a microcontroller to handle the switches, led display, and the signal from the distributer for the shift light.

Darn winter
