Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
Im planning on relocating the battery to the trunk and running dual 3" pipes for my intake. I know I've seen some, but I was wondering if some of yall have some stored on your PC somewhere. I assume I could just make 2 seperate CAI, one going to the pass side and one going to driver side, and then just cut the pipe in half at an angle at the TB and weld the two pipes together. Is this making sense? Im gonna keep looking, but everything Im seeing is Home Depot CAI, I want something a little cleaner looking. Gonna polish all the pipes and powder coat them with candy red to match the rest of the accents

yea, similar, but hard piping is what Im looking for. I know for a fact that Ive seen at least one on here, but I wanted to get a better look at it. I think the only thing that I would change as far as the picture you posted would be to seal off the filters, and make it out of 3" exhaust piping

^ There's actually one for sale here (the one that I posted), Click Here. I agree though, I know I seen a custom polished one somewhere, just can't remember where....

Could only come across one for you (and it's one of those cheapo, Home Depot designs), maybe someone else has some better quality images.....?

Re: Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
ya, Im still searching for it. Im not looking to buy anything, just looking for some ideas on how I can fab up my own. main thing Im trying to figure out how to do is mating the two pipes up at the TB. I know once I get out there and start cutting up the piping it will come together, but I also wanted to see how other people ran theirs, and if they used 3" piping or stepped it down to like 2.5" (being dual intake, I assume dual 2.5" into a single 4" pipe at the TB shoudl be sufficient)
Re: Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
just buy a set og 3" polished intercooler pipping from ebay
. its under a $100 and go to home depot and but a ruber 3" t fitting
----------
also what kind of motor is this going on? im running a carb set up, i grabbed a top hat from a 97 4.3lvortec blazer so i connect the pipping straight to that.

I can do the polishing and powdercoating myself. What Im looking for is just a picture of how others have created theirs. I know how and where to get the materials

Spectre Performance sells CIA kits and individual components- you could just buy the Y-connecter from them and fab the rest...

Re: Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
This is how I did it on my twin turbo setup. Pretty easy too. I don't know if you are able to weld or not but this is an example.

Re: Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
/\ I like that! I wouldn't have to relocate the battery that way, only thing I might do different is try to merge the two pipes into one 3.5" or 4" pipe instead of having them come together right at the TB.

Re: Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
sick looking setup jonarotz... wat size turbos are those? i was thinking of doin a twin turbo for my HSR 383 and was gona get a set of T3's bc there cheap but T3/4's hybrids would be better... but i think the T3's are too small. wat boost u running and hp #'s!!! who tuned it
sry didnt mean to hyjack the post.
spectre sells a kit that runs dual pipes tho. if u can weld get sum 3" exhuast pipe and make it work and relocate the batt or run dual tubes down the side of the motor and down underneith the front of the cam and setup a ram air setup maybe...

Re: Still searching, anyone got some pics of fab'd dual pipe intakes?
custom,
Thanks for the compliments! These are the turbos I am running:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...o-gt-66-a.html
I am only running around 7 psi, mostly around 5psi. I need to get a boost controller cuz my wastegates are cracking open and bleeding off some pressure. I usually hit 7 psi at 5-5.5K rpm. I am doing my own tuning with a Gen 7 DFI setup and currently it is making close to 500hp at the wheels.

sketchy, thats a pretty clean Fresh/ram-air setup. It's harder to do with a TPI setup, because the TB is so close to the radiator/core support.
