Brights Go Out ( Help )
Brights Go Out ( Help )
I don't know if this belongs in this thread but here is my problem/
I own a 1986 Iroc-Z28 Camaro , When I drive down the road at night I have to have my brights , The regular lights just do not provide me with enough light so I turn on my brights. I turn them on and bam works perfect but then If they stay on for too long they blink and blink and then go completely out and the only way to get them back Is if I go back to my regular lights and wait a few minutes then turn my brights back on , I have to do this a few times.
I just replaced the Windshield Switch **** thingy paid 40 bucks for it and its brand new , I was told that would fix it but I just expierenced the same problem again and I have no clue what it could be ? Anyone have any ideas at all please?

Your brights switch may also be bad. I had the same problem with my '86. It was almost like the switch wasnt enguaging and staying on like it should. They arent hard to change. It might help if you drop the column. just another suggestion.

More than likely it is the dimmer switch mounted down on the column, if it is the problem there will be some blackened areas more than likely to let you know. Also make sure that it is tight to the column and adjusted properly. I have worked on cars when guys replaced them and didn't adjust them properly and would go between high and low beam by adjusting the tilt.
