aluminum

is there any way to weld aluminum? i feel stupid for asking but i dont know much about welding!

what you need is a TIG welder with some Al rod.

Yeah, the best, cleanest, and most precise will be TIG . Also the most expensive setup though. Later.

Do you already own a welding rig of some kind?
If not, do you have 240V in your garage?
What would you like to be able to weld? thickness wise?

To weld aluminum of any significant thickness and to be able to have proper control over heat (and thus weld pool) you'll need at least a 240 unit and a foot pedal or thumb control. Without it welding aluminum is a PITA. AC is also nice, it can be done with DC if you clean the snot out of the alu and grind off the oxide layer and weld immediately after.
