I made this cross member and torque arm bracket for my th350 just thought I'd share I like it when I make it myself and I am sure some of you do also.

hard to tell what im looking at in that pic, but if it works and the welds are good, its a good deal. Homemade stuff is always neat

It's not pretty but if it works for you, then go ahead and use it. I also have a custom made tranny crossmember for my powerglide but I don't need a torque arm bracket. I do however have a driveshaft loop built into it.
Sort of similar design. Some angle iron bolted to the body but instead of square tubing joining the angle iron, I have two 1" round tubes with the tranny mount between them.
With a bit of fabrication skills, it's not hard to make a tranny crossmember. Just make sure the output shaft is close to the original height.
