Some questions on lighting Trans Am Tailight Center Piece

Some questions on lighting Trans Am Tailight Center Piece
Just had a few questions ive been wondering
Ive never taken my Tail Lights off so im unsure, The bird on the center piece,is it clear? Or is the phoenix just engraved? And if i wanted to light it to shine with the brakes and my nighttime driving, how would i go about doing so?
Im not sure if you would run a few LED's into the tail ight wiring harness or not. Ive seen a few members with this Fab done but i cant seem to find any threads on a how to.

the center section is clear on the outside and painted on the inside and the bird is just paint.
