Re: Rims

Boyd Coddington has made one off customs before.

At some point, I'm gonna be making a set of 18" GTA crosslace rims......... hopefully.
But I have the access to machines and the the ability to machine my own centers.

Re: Rims

you may want to also consider the actual design behind wheels. Looks arent everything.

A little off topic, but HRE is going to be selling something very similar to the GTA wheel soon as part of their classic line. Might be a little less expenseve.

Re: Rims

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but there are two sets of custom GNX wheels out there already:

Re: Rims

Doesnt say where he got them or i might have missed it. They look awsome but the only thing is im not a fan of than rivet look at all. If they can make them black or have a set without them id be all over them like white on rice

He made them.

Once you figure out how to make a 3 piece forged wheel without "that rivet look" I'll be all over it like white on rice too.

Re: Rims

Any high end wheel manufacturer that has their own CNC setup can make one-off designs. Rushforth, Boze, Bonspeed, Budnik, Intro, etc. I would expect costs to start at $2-3k per wheel. Nobody is going to be able to CNC a custom design for less. There's a lot of time involved with the 3D design & creation, plus the solid billet aluminum isn't cheap.

Plus, all designs must be subjected to Finite Element Analysis, which is software that costs in the range of $60,000.

And if simple billet aluminum isn't cheap, the spin-forged blanks that forged rims are made from definitely isnt either!
