Modern window Mod
Last summer I rented a Camaro and like other sports modern cars today when you open the door the window comes down about an inch and when you close the door it will go up and close buy it self.

I will like to make my 89 GTA do this because this way the window would not hit the rubber of the T-Top
Have anybody done this?

not hard to do if you have a degree in electrical engineering but you would have a microswitch to a timer relay that when open it for the .01 sec and to close for the .01 sec the the micro switch is reactivated

go to auberins electronics I build powdercoating ovens and build all my control boards from there
you can also practically make a stand alone ECU using pid controllers and sensors
I dont have a degree but im good at figuring things out but to be honest I dont think it would be worth it to have the window crack for closing one touch opening though would be a good idea

Re: Modern window Mod
it will cost alot more than its worth by the time you add limit switches timer controllers ect it will be around 100 plus IMO its not worth it
now upgrading the wireing to have faster windows is worth it

I've thought about doing this as well, but I think you guys are way over thinking it. There is no need for limit switches, there aren't any now for window operation.
My thought would be to tie into your door jamb switches to indicate door position. Then it would be a time based event that would either open or close the windows depending on switch inputs. I think this can be done relatively inexpensively and easy. You would be looking at a timer device (preferably adjustable) and some creative wiring to tap into the existing window wiring. When I get time I am going to dive into this more because one thing I hate on these T-top cars is the window being hung up on the weather seal.

Re: Modern window Mod
The one touch down has been done....apparently there is a Saturn that has a green led light on it...the person that did this said he didn't know the year for the Saturn....but everything is in the switch....and it fits our center counsel....the switch and the wiring dont match....so if you find a Saturn with a green led light on it ...take the switch and plug...

Re: Modern window Mod
I'd love to do this but sadly only have manual windows sigh, but like to see if any one actually does this though.
