help with Zr1 tail lights...
I have a fiberglass part that holds Zr1 tail lights for my Iroc. ..I am shaving and smoothing everything. ..and what I don't like...is how it wraps around the side of the car...I want to cut this part and weld in some metal to the side of the car...My fear is that it would look like a cambird with vett taillights...any ideas on how to do this???

Look at the 70's camaro for inspiration. Like this

I could easily see how to style what you have to look similar to older style tail panel

Or now that I think about it look at the Ferrari f40 that would point you in a good direction also

And one last thought
Look at this thread

Go for something similar but using your zr1 tail lights instead of that solid panel of tail lights
This would have been much easier if I had photoshop and thought about this all before I posted three different replies. Sorry for blowing up your thread.

Thanks...I like that winged camaro....but even that looks like a cambird...I was showing some guys I work with...this post...and the idea of taking my fiberglass part to a metal fab shop...and see what it would cost to make out of metal...and weld it in ...like a metal roll pan for a truck...

I don't think that it will look like a cambird, The camaro and firebird rear quarters look very much different from the wheel wells and the line where the quarters meat the b-pillar, I think it would look OK if you welded in the rear triangle of the tail light section maybe using the section from a firebird. Then mold in the ZR1 section, I think it would look good.

You have a point...next week I'm off of work ...so I'll take the fiberglass part to some fab shops..to see how much to have it made in metal...
