Corvette Air Intake

Anyone ever tried something like this on a TPI? I would see if I could fab something if they weren't so expensive. Wondering if you could extend where the filters go...

I have an '87 with the MAF on the nose, makes it more difficult to work with.

Re: Corvette Air Intake

i dont think it is worth the trouble unless the K&N 1000 cfm air filter can go on.

Someone needs to build an intake for the third gen similar to what you posted...

Re: Corvette Air Intake

Corvettes dont have a front hood latch where that intake on a thirdgen would definitely interfere with. If you used hood pins only and notched the radiator support as well as the radiator for clearance then you could use it.

Isn't the stock unit behind the hood latch? Can't remember.

Re: Corvette Air Intake

It is but remember right before the radiator it narrows down to a oval to clear over the radiator and below the hood. Then the intake wraps around the latch, the corvette intake has no oval pinch to clear the hood before the hatch, that looks all 3" or so, way too big.
