Billet hinges with ball bearing pivot points are worth EVERY bit of what they sell for. Not only are they nicer looking, the function is much better and smoother and if the bearings ever "wear out" (doubtful) you can replace them. Stamped steel hinges wear out and rather easily, not to mention they can and do rust. I have them on my 73 Camaro, and while they were close to $700 it is easily the best "appearance" mod on my car. I can open the hood with almost 0 effort. I took the gas operated struts out because they put too much pressure on the fiberglass hood and was distorting the outer shell.
I have 1 thirdgen that I daily drive and another as a shell/project. I would DEFINITELY be down for a set of hood hinges, especially since they are relatively easy to manufacture for these cars. And honestly none of the other parts in this thread have any value except aesthetics compared to a plastic part, the aluminum part is almost always going to weigh more and compared to a steel part the aluminum may not be strong enough

Glad to see some first hand experience chime in on these hinges in a positive light. I can say that my custom made billet hinges are not as user friendly and will be looking to upgrade them.
can any one help me i need aset of billet emblems i had my door emblems painted on and got screwed by youngs f body but ineed the irocz part recessed please help
I was gonna jump on that hinges are dumb bandwagon but... wow... those things do look VERY nice. My factory hinges are terrible. No way Im gonna spend $500 on hinges instead of go fast parts, but Im not gonna knock anyone who wants to put something like that on their thirdgen. Those things look killer!
As far as billet stuff goes, Im surprised no one wants billet center caps or shift *****.
The only thing I'd really be interested in is pedal covers. There are companies that make those already for about $100 a set, but I'd love to have a billet gas pedal "spacer". My brake pedal is WAY in front of my gas pedal and I'd like to have a pedal that's about a half inch thick. obviously, not a half inch solid piece, but something with some integral standoffs/spacers to elevate the footpad from the pedal itself.
But I think I may be one of theo nly people here who wishes he could heel-toe in these cars. The pedal placement is just awful for it.

Most of the autocross stuff I do needs me to be right where first and second gear transition, so having the option to downshift and heel-toe would be a HUGE advantage to me. But Im not sure how much other interest there would be for this. Ultimate pedals makes the nice ones that are common (allegedly they made the pedals for the original Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds), and they are nice, but they suggest just stacking washers underneath the pedal and I just really dont like that idea very much.

That gas pedal spacers a pretty good idea. My bird is my first manual car so I have never really been able to heel-toe before, but I'm trying to learn and it is hard in my car.
Gonna bring this thread back from the dead...I just picked up my baby a couple of weeks ago and she is fully customized. I would love to slap on a pair of those billet hood hinges to complete the look of the engine bay.
We have some billet 3rd gen parts, no hood hinges thou. Mostly interior related parts like door jam vents, door strikers, tilt lever and emergency flasher ****. 3rd gen billet interior parts
We have an aluminum battery cover but looks like your battery was relocated from that pic. It's aluminum so could be polished, or we have them in satin black powder coat. We were considering some additional parts depending on demand. 3rd gen battery cover
