C4 Vette headlights on firebird-opinions?
Aside from the expense of acquiring the flip around corvette assemblies, anybody got any thought or opinions on using this in place of the factory firebird flip up lights?
PRO- cool different way to have the headlights appear. And there's enuff room to use bi-xenon 2.5" motorcycle lamps (maybe angel eyes too). eBay has these lights inexpensive enuff to experiment.
CON- expensive corvette parts are still used. Complicated to make work(?)
I'd love to hear feedback guys. I just hate hate hate how ugly the factory firebird lights are when up.

The vette assemblies are a bit longer than the firebird ones and will require you to cut up the core support to install them.
Have you looked into the lazy eye mods? They still use the stock doors and assemblies just don't open as far, looks a little better and a lot easier than the vette swap.
I made the angry eye ones for my yellow 92 a couple years ago and I've always loved how them look when open. I would love to do another set for my 86 but they are so hard to build its not going to happen unfortunatly

First- I'm in love with ur AngryEyes look! I've seen the sleepy eyes- still haven't found out HOW to modify the stops on my stock lights...
I saw how someone mentioned old Geo Storm style flip ups, then it dawned on me how the Vette lights swivel- very cool and different for sure. I wouldn't need to use the entire assembly (depending on the size of lights I get)... Just thinking about using the Vette swivel style... I'm fantasizing making a double blister fiberglass cover to conceal the works with the lights exposed then have a stock looking flat door when the lights are off.
Without having the Vette light assembly in front of me, I'm guessing lots less fabrication than ur Angry look but a bit more creativity making the Vette lights fit and work.
Still hating the idea? LOL
