Wheel well question for slick clearance
I bought a Midwest chassis fab 9" for my car. It was one they had in stock and was slightly narrowed to tuck the tire a bit. I started cutting my bump stops & trimming the inside. On the driver side it's a bit close. So I searched on here and looked at a ton of mini tub topics to follow.
I'd like to cut the metal away and expose the spring perch area, what would it hurt to weld and smooth it with the factory spring exposed? That would give me room I want because it sticks out right there

if your getting that close. i would start looking at your LCA's. to make sure your not going to rub.
as you move in on that part of the wheel well. you will start to run into the stock LCA's.
at that point you will have to go to a after market smaller diameter lower control arm. or even a custom offset LCA
NOTE: this pic shows. smaller diameter. LCA's with offset bushing. to bring it in away from sidewall of tire

this shot shows ya want to make sure you have a wall to keep spring from ever moving out to the side...this strap is 1/16" thick then thinner sheet added for cover...that ya dont have to do..

with sheet added

Re: Wheel well question for slick clearance
Perfect. Thank you. I have a good 1/2" but I want more in case I ever want to use 10" slicks. I got the smaller LCA tubes & offset bushing already so I'm good there. I have to pound the front bottom in but that's no biggie.
Thank you...this is exactly what I needed!!
