Building T56 Crossmember

I'm undergoing my LS1/T56 swap for the next 9 days, and Hawks is out of their double hump T56 cross member, that allows extra clearance for the exhaust.

So it puts me in a bind. I need a cross member that allows clearance for the long tube headers.

Around how much will it cost me to have a local fab shop make one? I'm going around and getting quotes today, but just wanted some opinions.

Is there any way I can easily modify the 4th stock gen crossmember, or stock 700r4 member, to get me by until hawks has them in stock?

Good fab shop your looking at 75 or more an hour plus material. Since the hawks piece is production jig welded they can only charge 110 bucks for one. Hawks knows they're out so they most likely have them in production and/or being powder coated. If you don't feel confident building one yourself id just wait.

Re: Building T56 Crossmember

I got a call from hawks a few days later and they told me they were back in stock. The next day it was at my front door.

Problem solved lol.
