Re: Made my own custom emblem
i might begin to sell these, would you guys want to buy them already painted or would you like to paint them yourself, and i can do special requests such as SS instead of rs, Z28, iroc etc. i can write whatever you want on the emblem and have it 3d printed.

Re: Made my own custom emblem
I WILL PAY TOP $ FOR A FIREBIRD FORMULA EMBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE ARE NICE!!!!!!!!! i was in our drafting class all 4 years of high school (ROP for senior year) we had a guy come in and do a sample with one of those 3d printers. He printed out a small scale verison of our school in about 4-5 hours. It was pretty cool. He did tell us that they are starting to use these things in racing and what not? For quick replacement parts!? LOL

Re: Made my own custom emblem
Word to the wise. Don't sell them publicly. RS, SS, Camaro, even the font is copyrighted by GM.
You could probably sell a couple, then if it gets popular, or word gets to GM, you'll get a cease and desist letter.
However, make the file available for free and let anyone with a 3D printer make the emblem with their own hardware and materials and GM will never bother you.
There was a company that made Ford overlays matching the body color of the car so the blue oval wasn't blue anymore. Ford shut them down.
You'd need to license the property to make the custom emblems legally.

Re: Made my own custom emblem
I really like the way it turned out. Very nice work. I wouldn't mind one that said A.I.R. or SMOG or something like that. I kind of have a little culture brewing with the smog pumps.

Re: Made my own custom emblem
What I'm saying is that you could probably get away with making one that had the same or similar style or font but said something else. Offer to make custom ones for people like vanity plates or something.
