83 camaro clutch/frame issues need input

Hello everyone, I've been putting back together an 83 camaro I tore apart 12 years ago when I was 15. Well I got it mostly back together after tracking down a ton of hard to find parts to keep it mechanical clutch. Well when I pulled the z bar of i noticed the part of the frame it attaches to is rotted and broke through. Is this fixable being that it's right at the firewall like it is?

Sure it's fixable. It actually would be an easy spot to weld a panel to. The bigger cost will be in removing all of the items from the area so that you can remove the offending metal and then have enough room to weld in a patch.

I got a better picture, it seems pretty bad. I guess I'll have to see if I can find someone more competent with welding than I am to see what they can do.

I am with Tibo on this one 100%.

Biggest job will be to get all the parts out of the car so the welding can be done.

Not a bad idea since the car seems like it could be hiding other cancer.

When you are pulling the car apart you are getting two benefits.
1. Eyes on all other areas.
2. Access to the bad area you already know about.

While you rip the car apart you can search for a welder. Maybe throw something up FB and see if some around you can help. Including your location in our profile helps too. Good luck!
