Looking for recommendations on bump stop location for mini tub

I mini tubbed my Z28 8 years ago and am finally getting around to moving the project forward. Car will have air ride and I am trying to get it as low as possible for when it is parked at shows. I want the car to sit on its bump stops when it is aired out. Air ride tech says you shouldn't use the internal shock bump stop for this.

Does the location in the pic make sense? The blue line is the height the bump is at when the car lifts from the jack. So i figured 1/4" safety gap, and install the bump stop there.

yea that looks fine

i think 2015 tahoe has a nice bumpstop you drill like a 1/2 hole in the rail and push it into the hole. then cut to the length you want.

I think that position looks good. You may want to lower it a little more to compensate for any crush of the bump stop due to weight of the car resting on it.

Any chance you can get another angle? I think I understand. It is on the inner wall of the spring pocket, and on that wall, it is on the inner facing side. Correct? This is where I was thinking as an alternate location simply to keep as many things away from the wheels as possible. Those three piece custom wheels are going to be stupid $$$ so I want to reduce risk of them getting caught on anything years down the line when I am servicing the car and forget that literally everything is custom and I may forget about where something is when doing brakes or something.

Thanks for all the replies. I will post some pics here and on my build thread when I conclude location.
Also I agree on maybe moving it down a bit more to compensate for crush. Not too much though since I could always shim the bump stop if needed if it is a bit high.

I did the same when I did the minitub, moved to the inside coil spring "wall".

This is a great pic showing your install location. Think I will do the same location.

Was working on the car after work yesterday and noticed my axle was almost an inch off from center of the wheel well. After correcting the issue, it looks like the first thing to bottom out will be my panhard bar to reinforcement/relocation bar. Will make this gap 3/8" or so and place bumps at that height. If more compression happens, I can always shim the bumps.

Will then tack in place and remove the rear suspension completely so I can spin the car on the rotisserie for final weld and epoxy primer.
