Stalling and rough idle
Hi, got a new problem here. The car has stalled 5 times on me already today. Twice at a stop and three times while driving. I am getting a code 22 from the ALDL. That is supposed to be Low voltage at throttle positon sensor OR Fuel cutoff relay circuit open or shorted to ground. The car has a new TPS installed so I don't think that's it. I have no idea where or what the fuel cutoff relay is. Is that the fuel pump relay on the fire wall by the brake booster? The one by the fan relay and Electronic Control Module? If it is that relay is new too. Tried switching the fan relay with it and it made no difference. The car is driving like crap with a rough idle and always acts like it wants to stall. If it is the fuel cutoff relay do I just need to reground that? When I find it that is...any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Was the new TPS set up to the right voltage? I had stalling and stumbling with my car about 2 years ago and turned out the TPS was way out of the voltage range.
Here's the tech article if you need to look up the readings or wiring jumpers. I would go back and check the reading and maybe set the IAC. https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/tpimod2.shtml
As for the fuel pump relay I don't know to much about that. I know theres the relay on the firewall that primes the pump when you turn the key then there's a seperate or combined fuel relay and oil sender near the oil filter on some cars.

My car has the TBI system not TPI. I have already looked at adjusting the TPS but I do not see any adjustable area. The two torx screws go through the holes and tighten the piece down. I.E. there is no "wiggle room" on the TPS for a TBI. If I am wrong someone please let me know. Also, still looking for the Fuel Cutoff Switch if anyone knows. Thanks!

That's how a TPI TPS is also. You hook up your meter read it like the article says spin it open to WOT with the motor off check the reading if it's off, loosen up the 2 torx screws and rotate it one way or the other to correct it.
Maybe you have a nonadjustable unit. I dug this up with a little searching https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=41636
You might try searching around the TBI forum. You'll probably see more luck there.

Okay, think I might have found the problem. Can I get someone else's opinion here? Pulled my ignition module from the distributor. I had it tested and they said it was bad. Now here is the questions. Could a bad ignition module cause the car to stall while driving and at idle, the tach jump around drastically and cause the ECM to set codes 22 and 42? Thanks!
