i need some help......im building a 89 350 with flat top pistons with 4 valve relive. and and i have a 89 305 with vortec heads can i use my 305 heads on my 350 im going to use a mild roller cam also......please give me some tips...

 

i would not use these heads for a few reasons
1.58 cc head will run your compression up
2.this head although it is a vortec design will not flow for crap due to the small valves.
3.you will have to buy the vortec intake and put them on these heads
4. you will not feel the benefit of a performance cam without the flow from the head.
you would be better off having tpi heads(5.7) if money is an issue

The L31 350 head is much better than the 305 version.
It has 64cc chambers. If you port the exhaust side some, they make gobs of power. You will have to use a special intake though.
And also, tune, tune, tune.
The rewards should make it worth while.
