1984 TA 5-speed for sale in Bethlehem PA !!!SOLD!!!

1984 Trans Am for sale. $1500obo (that includes around $800 in parts)

You can check it out at http://www.sypweb.net/84ta/. There are over 20 pictures of it.

1984 Pontiac Trans Am. This car has 95,XXX original miles on it. I purchased it
from the original owner and have a copy of the original title along with the
original warranty paperwork and financing paperwork. The car is Red with Black
accents with a gray interior. The car is in good shape for an 80’s Trans Am and
it runs good and starts up every time. The transmission shifts without any
issues. The car was repainted at some point by the original owner and it looks
pretty good. There are some blemishes which you can see in the photos.

The car is not inspected because the windshield is cracked and the rear brakes
are locked open (which were locked open when I bought it and I drove it around for
a year like that). Included with the car is every part required to swap the
rear disc brakes to the newer PBR disc brakes. This cost me close to $300 to
get all the parts needed I am including at no cost in the price of the vehicle.
You can see the pictures of the parts. Some of them are new or reconditioned
and some are off vehicles that were parted out but still running. Once the
windshield is replaced and the brakes are fixed, the car will pass PA
inspection and emissions. I am also including the graphic that goes on the hood
cowl. It is black to match the paint scheme.

I will also include a full exhaust setup that cost me around $500. You can see all the parts by clicking on the link to the car above.

I purchased this car about three years ago but do not have the time or money to
do what I want with it. Since I have owned the car, I have changed the battery,
fluids and hood struts.

Wow that is pretty clean for a 23 year old car. Now what is the issue with the rear brakes? Would it make it to Long Island, or is it something that I would have to fix before driving it?

The brakes wouldn't prevent it from making it to long island. Basically the rear brakes don't work. They are locked in the open position so they don't close when you hit the brake pedde. And the ebrake doesn't work because of it either. I drove this car for a year just the way it is and now its been sitting in my garage since the registration has expired. I started it up and took it for a drive over the summer one night so it still runs just fine.

Its definitly a good car for the year. That's why I bought it. I wanted a non t-top, manual car because I was planning on building it up. I actually bought a bunch of parts but sold them all this past year. All I have left is the car, brakes and exhaust setup.

Re: 1984 TA 5-speed for sale in Bethlehem PA

I was taking a look at the pics, Very clean car for the year!

Something that struck out at me, and granted I'm not old enough to realize what the market was really like back then but that finance contract, the green one just seems insane.

If I'm reading all this correctly. This lady traded a 1972 Corvette Convertible , AND a 1983 Buick Regal (in 1984), then financed the difference of 2100 some odd dollars at 14% interest which led to almost 7000 in interest charges. She paid 189 bucks a month for 4 years on that car.

Guess she must have REALLY wanted that trans am!
