[NSW] Aust 3rd Gen firebird
1988 Pontiac Firebird 2.8Ltr V6 Manual - Location: Australia: Bombala, NSW.
In good condition and runs well. It runs on unleaded and the 2.8 seems to run nicely. Exhaust is fairly new and has a good sound and not too loud. I’ve done a lot of minor repairs while owned it, but not changed it from factory, other than the rims which came with the car. They are 16” simmons wheels on 245 R16. Replaced hood struts. 2.8 means p plate drivers are unrestricted.
This car was imported privately in 2005 but has never been registered. I have import approval paperwork and also receipts from the work I’ve had done while I’ve owned it. Car is LHD and will either need to be converted to RHD or registered LHD. Do it yourself and save $$$.
There is no visible rust on the body, but I haven’t removed the carpets to find any. There is minor rust around the battery.
Cooling system is not working well, as it boils when idling. I think the cooling fan does not turn on. Fan motor is ok, so is probably the sender unit or relay. Windscreen has delaminated there are small spots that look like rain drops. Radio doesn’t work.
I have extra parts ARE NOT INCLUDED IN SALE which buyer will get first dibs on to purchase separately if they want them. I have a windscreen, door card trims (black/black), Knight Rider nose (4th season style), RH bias headlights.
Transport to be organised by buyer, but cost approx 600 to get transported from Melbourne. Bombala is 45km north of the Victorian border, half way between Sydney and Melbourne. 2 ½ hours south of Canberra. May consider trade for RHD firebird/trans-am.
