Car: 1983 Recaro T/A / 1988 GTA
Engine: 305ci Crossfire LU5 / 305 TPI LB9
Transmission: 700R4 / T5
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt posi 3.23 /
Parts Car, 1983 Recaro Trans AM
To preface this I would like to state that the car is in very rough condition. The car has rust and some rot on the firewall, door bottoms, and quarter panels and the front underside edge of the hood. As such it would probably be best suited as a donor car. The car was parked a few years ago because of a fuel leak from the filter.
Prior to being parked the floor pans and drivers strut tower were replaced by a state certified auto body shop. Unfortunately the car has a water leak and there is some rust on the front edge of the replacement floorpan. The water leak is thought to be coming in from the cowel area of the firewall.
The motor ran very rough and had a CFI vacuum leak when it was parked. It is sweating a lot of oil and all of the gaskets are very old. The motor still turns over free with a turn of the key and a charged battery but the car will not idle for more then a second or two. I suspect this is do to the old gas in the system. The body wiring is rubbish and one of the front left turn signals refuses to blink.
The sale will include the center console and back seat which were removed to replace the floor pans in addition to a set of OEM N24 wheels and aero grill inserts off of a 1984 Trans AM. I have the complete interior for the car minus the OEM shifter handle and the carpet. The Recaro seats need to be recovered but all of the hardware is present.
This parts car might be appealing to somebody with a later model firebird that wishes to make a a KITT / KARR clone as most of the 82-84 exclusive parts are here.
LU5 305 CFI / 700R4 / 3.23 posi, GM Glass T-Tops code CC1, Recaro code AQ9, Locking fuel filler door N09, D80 Spoiler. 4 wheel disc brakes. (Car also has the rear hatch wiper system and it appears to be original to the car but I was not able to identify the RPO for it)

I am asking $1200 obo. You will need to bring a trailer. Feel free to make me an offer and help me get rid of it before winter.
