83 transam 350, pics, trade for 4 wheeler
i previously posted 4 runner, oops
i want a 4 wheeler, to tool around in the country with my boy
something like a honda recon would be ideal
would need to be at least a 2k value,
person trading would need to figure out how to bring the 4 wheeler, and pick up the transam, because honestly, i lose all future appreciation in this deal.
pics of the car at
'83 transam
hit my thread with questions or email me
i'll get back as soon as i can (usually within a day)
thanks

My buddy sounds interested. I printed off some pics and am bringing them to his work this morning. IIRC he has a 2001 Honda Recon. We live in Madison, WI. The car wouldn't have any trouble driving back here, would it?

hey bud
thanks for your response,
the car is an 83, and has been in storage since 03
i occassionally put the battery in, drive it to the gas station. but that is about it in the last 3 years...
i would assume you would have someone accompanying you on the trip, or are you riding the 4 wheeler here from wisconsin? just kidding
in 02 i took it from memphis to orlando, back to memphis, then to cincinnati..
the sum total of trouble i had was replacing 2 radiator hoses (one in georgia, one outside of nashville) that is what i would estimate the experience to go like, but who knows with a car that hasn't stretched its legs in a while. i would think you would want to go through it, tighten bolts, check belts and hoses. i would change oil, air filter before you got here, top off fluids.
even still, if your bringing a truck to haul the four wheeler, just rent a car hauler from uhaul and haul it back. it may be easier than laying under the car outside macon georgia with a guy staring at you with love and hate across his nuckles.. (he was also on a tractor and petting a pregnant cat - no b.s.)
i could call local uhaul and see what they would charge for a car trailer, and if they allow one way travel, sometimes they want them back, if thats the case you would have to bring with....
or you can always pop the t-tops off and say a prayer to the open road, who knows she may roll out fine
i can get you any other pics you would want, and if your bud is serious i will give my phone number so we can have open dialogue
thanks again for your interest
Bill

representing'
i hope i didn't misrepresent, i just wanted to err on the side of caution, do i believe the car would make it- yes. do i want to promise you that - no.
my wifes 2001 honda accord just broke down outside of memphis so you never know,
what i was really saying is that, old hoses are old hoses, that would be my concern - not the engine or drivetrain.
ttt

I've actually got a tandam axle trailer I built... its just that its not registered and as a result I am a bit leary crossing state lines with it. But yea...I am used to mishaps like that. The driver's rear wheel fell off my camaro on the interstate on my way home after buying it.... Anyway.... why don't you e-mail me your phone number and I'll have my buddy call you.

Looks like a good ride. There was a guy on here wanting to trade a 4 wheeler for a third gen. Look back through some of the threads maybe a few weeks ago, he made a lot of posts on here to trade. See if you can find one of the threads and maybe y'all can make a deal.
Not sure where you and the fellow with the trailer are located but in Texas just go to registration and it is an easy process. Prof of insurance on the car and should be good to go. Registeration fee was not high here either for the boat or jet ski.

Guy with ATV to trade
Hi, Im The guy that WSBADMF was talking about with a honda recon and may be willing to trade you. Its a 98 Recon TRX250. Its dark green in color and in perfect shape. I have A-ARM guards on it i just installed. The pervious owner bought it new and used it to do minimal yard work. i bought it last summer. Do you have more pictures of your trans am? I didnt get back to you sooner because i work 55 hours a week, and i gotta sleep somewhere. Is there any damage on the car, or rust? how many miles are on the car? does the transmission shift smoothly? Please PM me back, Thanks, Mark

pretty funny, didnt catch that,
mark let me know if you think this is plausible for you, and i will let the one i am watching locally go, i'd rather have the recon anyway. but if you know your not interested let me know, i might snag it, its a good deal.
you dont have to commit, just let me know where you are mentally
thanks B

email reply
i will post here as well captain, will keep you in mind...
i have a guy from wisconsin who says he will come get the car weekend after next.
if he falls through i will contact you
I dont think it burns oil, does lose some, i think, around valve cover gaskets (not a leak-just loss when under compression) (holds good oil psi 40-60)
i have never dynoed or ran in 1/4, so i dont know, a virtual dyno, said around 330 hp. car is geared high (323) but it does sh-t n git!
when it was daily driver i avg. about 15 mpg
car is not perfect, but isnt "project car" either.
have lots of extra parts, hasnt been driven regular since 02, with a tune up, i dont think s.alabama would be a prob...
check my thread to see my reply to the other guy that wanted to drive it to wisconsin.
heater core, blown and bypassed, air works, loses charge, emergency brake cable sticks, carb needs tuned (quadrajets blow my mind, and consequently runs rich - rebuild kit ought to do it) but since car runs rich, plugs would be in order....
i would suggest any car though, that hasnt been driven regular get points, plugs, oil change, filter and tighten down intake, carb, headers, etc. prior to really using - - just good bizness... save yourself major expenses later...
thanks for looking, if the guy i'm dealing with doesnt come through i will holler back- Bill

stayin alive
You know it’s all right. it’s ok.
I’ll live to see another day.
We can try to understand
The new york times’ effect on man.
Whether you’re a brother or whether you’re a mother,
You’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive.

led for the head
Sunday morning when we go down to church
See the menfolk standin' in line
I said they come to pray to the Lord
With my little girl, looks so fine
In the evening when the sun is sinkin' low
Everybody's with the one they love
I walk the town, Keep a-searchin' all around
Lookin' for my street corner girl
See the menfolk standin' in line
I said they come to pray to the Lord
With my little girl, looks so fine
In the evening when the sun is sinkin' low
Everybody's with the one they love
