ok guys, just bought an 88 formula firebird and theres no radio in it, my guess is that the previous owner, (coughcough JACKASS cough cough) , ripped it out for some aftermarket cd player since the harness is now gone and i have a tangle of wires, but anyway, i was wondering what stereo came in it, i know it came with a cassete deck because the middle console has tape storage in it. any picture of this radio?? BTW it has a button on the dash that has a little musical note on it and a gain control slider, was this gain control for some kind of stock amplifier???? any answers, especially pics would help an awesome amount, maybe even a source for finding one?????? thanks! PS sorry about the novel i wrote

I'd suggest getting a 88 Firebird sales brochure. It'll show you what decks were available. Or if you have your RPO codes, one of them will indicate which deck the car should have.
The music note slider is for a factory amp and sub package, do a search for information. You might also want to look and see if you have 6x9's or the speaker boxes in the sail panels behind the front seats. Originally your car had the boxes if the gain slider is stock.
