Re: Jason's comment...

I know how ya feel....I'm 22 as well...and I think we're at that point when we realize that cars are'nt just for speed, but to beautify and take care of....for speed of course! I hate seeing all these younger kids driving around in trashed out nice cars....be a hooked up Supra or one of our thirdgens....it's mostly the younger people I find that neglect cars. Furthermore, thats just the problem....think about it, when you were 15-17, and someone told you to clean your room...how many times did you actually rush to the closet for the vaccum & jump up with joy?!!
Yet it was someplace you spent a lot of time in, both personal and with your friends. Hence, bedrooms are like a persons car....they spend a lot of personal(chillin with 80s metal & looking for hotties(or hunky guys for the few females on here) at the beach) and non-personal time(going to school) in it. Just for some examples.
.....However, my car is MUCH cleaner than me and my fiancee's room...and shes a neat freeeeeaaak to the max. Maybe I just love my car like a child....ahhhh yess....hehehe!

Re: Re: Jason's comment...

My room is a mess, but my car is far from it.
Actually, my room is a mess because its full of car parts/tools/cleaning stuff. I take better care of my car than I think most other people take care of theres.

Bought another trashed out thirdgen. Saw a Black 92 25th aniversary eddition RS for sale that my friend told me that has been sitting there for a year in bad shape and I felt sorry for it. Not taken care of. Paint is bad, front ground effect peice half there. Foot long dent in the drivers door, Interior not ripped but the back panels are all marked up real bad from throwing crap in there. Best part, the spark plug wires were so bad they arced real bad and shocked the crap out of me. I list goes on. Fixed some stuff in the 2 monthes I'v had it but its not my main focus and I'm limited by a budget so It will get fixed as money comes available. Its not only kids that dont take care of thirdgens. They tend to beat on them more but there are a lot of Thirdgen RS Camaro's around here that older people drive that they dont take the best of care of them. And I bought this car of a guy in his 30's...

I guess when you hit my age (33) and get a home and a wife, you realize that a car is just that - a car. I have more important things in my life than the worship of plastic, glass, and metal. If you get to 33 and all you have in your life is your car, then I suggest you reevaluate your life.

I like my IROC. I wanted a third car to tinker with and I've always liked thirdgens - since my first car in 1985. So I sold my hunting Jeep and bought an IROC, and I love having it around. I started coming to this site so I could gain knowledge about what's best for our cars in terms of performance and maintenance - not to get into some idealogical debate about what the car means to me.

Since I am obviously a moron, I will simply continue to do on this site as I originally intended.
Wow. I could have written that word for word. I agree totally.

Trashed out... you mean "ghetto'd" like a r i c e r, lol... chassis lowered to 2" from the ground, 20" chrome wheels, blinding paint job, decals all over the car, clear taillights, an interior full of subs, neon lights inside and underneath the car, and the final touch, for which you can get in on a group purchase on another board, lol, an unpainted carbon fiber hood?

OOOOOOOOH! You mean trashed out as in ignored or abused! That's very different(but not really). Nevermind.

There is nothing wrong with lowering if it is done properly. 2in from the ground is a little extreem though
Plenty of people here have paintjobs that look like a mirror, whats wrong with that, I wish I had one.
Those hoods are pissing me off, its the latest ***** trend i'm seeing more and more of the things.

Just having fun painting an extreme picture.

It was mainly to complain about that hood, lol. Our cars are american muscle. Trendy things should be left to the imports, IMO.
