What is so special about '83 delux interior?

Well I went back to dig in the bone yard here in South Florida and was pleasently surprised! I found a 84 brown interior car CHRISTMAS!!!! Well after completely gutting this car of all brown I began the search for other oddball stuff. What is The deal with that odd ball hatch post that sticks down? There were some '84s but no '83s. Was it a '83 only thing? Next question is with the "delux" interior. On the sides of my seats the plastics are coverd in "fuzz " Every other car I looked into had regular interior colored plastics. So what is the deal with my car? Was someone stupid and made them velvety or is it original? Third of all if anyone could post pics of what the spare tire brackets look like I would be thankful. Mine is missing and now I know why I had two tiny holes in my pass side glass jamb Anyways if anyone could help me with any of these issue.....

Oh this junk yard is sooo cheap!!! I pulled all the interior plastics inclueding seat belts for $41.50

It's factory huh? Great Now I have to find some clean cars to look at and see how I can restore mine. They are fuzzy in the center but all worn black towards the edges. Any ideas as how to make em fuzzy again?
