I got a '92 Rally Sport and I was gonna do the RPO code thing and I can't find where the RPO code is? Does anybody know where it could be?

Welcome to the boards, 92redrallysprt. On the home page, just look at the left side of the screen. There will be a list of things to check out (including these message boards. Look under Tech Central. You will find the RPO Decoder. Just plug in your RPO's and voila.

Either in the console between the seats or inside the locking compartment in the back driver side of the car. If they aren't in one of those places they may have been removed.

If you cant find it in either place since your car is a 92, take you VIN number to a chevy dealership and they should be able to print you out a list... They were keeping track of RPOs on cars by then.

ya know, you Camaro guys (owners, i mean, i luv em too, use to have a 92 25th Anniversary RS!) seem to be suckin on this RPO code thing! Us Arrowheads (Poncho warriors) seem to have it easy. On my '87 Formula the center console was changed before i got the car, obviously this is where the RPO's were! but all i have to do is pay a wee lil visit to Pontiac historical services, give them about $40 and my V.I.N., sit back and wait for the mail! i feel sorry for you bowtie boys.

Hey Screamin' I hate to whiz' in your wheaties .... but PHS will only provide you with the "options" that were ordered on your car.

They will not provide you with the basic RPO codes your car was built with. So out of about 80 codes you will get a dozen or so listed. Been there .......... done that.

Actually yes we can. Its called the camaro white book. $16.95.

Or Catalog of Camaro Numbers $19.95

Production run numbers, numbers and RPOs for most of the common options with descriptions. The catalog book also has block, trans and rear end codes. As well as tech specs. I think Firebird guys have it tougher. I dont see them documented as well. Then again I havent really looked since i dont have a bird. This is just what I have seen at the bookstore

oh, that's cool. i didn't mean this post to be a "cut-down" to Camaro guys. i love the Camaro just as much (well, almost just as much!) as i do my Formula. if there's a way to get this info that i didn't know about, that is great!

didnt think it was a cut down... just letting you know we actually have it easier in my opinion. I wonder why there isnt as much documentation on the birds as there is for the camaros.
