RPO codes for a 91, from dealership????

Hey I was just wondering, In the "Read This First" post it says if you don't have the RPO codes for a 91 or 92 F-body you could go to a local dealership and they could print the codes. Is this true and if so about how much does it cost? And will all Chevrolet dealerships do it?
Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks, Garrett

I think all GM dealers have access to print the codes for any GM car but finding a dealer that's willing to may be another thing.

Chevy's computers can only go back to '90. It can be done beyond that, but not on their service computers. I've never gotten the RPOs from a dealer for a pre-'90s car.

They charge nothing and can do it in less than one minute.

I've got two '84s, a Recaro and a 15th Ann. My friendly local GM parts guy has punched in both VINs and come up with a detailed printout.

I tried to do this for my '92 and they said they couldn't do it for my car. Not available!?
Is having the printout any benefit if you still have the RPO sticker in the rear storage compartment?

I work for a dealer, and our parts guy said that any dealer can trace back to '90...pre '90 they can't.
