Seat Repair Completed

Fianlly got the damage on my seat fixed

There was some wear and it was getting worse so I had a local guy patch it up.

The top piece is the right bolster showing the back of the material. The bottom one is the worst piece, had 2 holes in it.

Here you can see the material differences. The front pieces were replaced, the top and back remained. The flash really brings out the shades, this material was a reproduction of the pallex cloth.

Here is the new seat back with the old damaged piece

This cost me just over 100 bucks, the guy is real good and knows his stuff.

Don, the seat looks excellent. The price seems pretty good too.

Where did you get the cloth? I need some. I may have a line on some OE stuff but I am still waiting on an answer.

Give these guys a ring, they will send out fabric samples, no cost, within a few days. Also have your upholsterer order it at half price, its about 17 bucks a yd.

For automobiles, bucket seats generally require 5-6 yards, and bench seats 3-4 yards

I did mine with a yard and had a ton left over.

Looks great Don! My guess on the shade difference would be that your original has probably faded quite a bit, even as nicely kept as your car is. I'll bet the new material is pretty close to what your seats were like when new.

Yea, the lighter stuff is without question faded. I got mine before it had faded much (only the tops and headrest, t-top car) but at around 50k miles and 5 years old it was starting to fade.

Thanks Blue

I was surprised how much it was washed out, I thought they were in decent shape. The color diff. does not bother me much, here is shot that shows how it really looks.
