Everyone Please Read

I am posting this on all tech boards to make sure every one gets to see it. Moderator please don't close this thread or move it. My Iroc has been off the road for about 8 months because my trans went out. I had it towed to Cottman transmission on Hwy 295 in Spartanburg, SC. It was there for 2 nights and on the next morning I got a horrible call at 8:45a.m. that my car had been broken into, someone had smashed my back window and stolen all my stereo equipment. Well, I went up there and made a police report and the manager said he wasn't responsible for any of it. I took pictures of my car, moved it to a new transmission shop, and contacted my lawyer. He said he is responsible for all damage done to my car and has ten days to contact me or I will take him to court. He has yet to contact me. I just wanted to post this to let everyone know that there are some real a**holes out there and to watch out. I have looked at the pictures and it appears that the stereo was gone before the back window was smashed, so I think it was an inside job. I have estimates for the back window, stereo, paint, and tint for almost $4,000. I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks
I'm posting some pics on Aftermarket Product Review under the same post too.

Damn straight he freakin responsible! Bust this guys freakin ***** until he makes good and report him to your local BBB.

The VERY rare time that my car is EVER left with ANYONE I make aure that it will be stored indoors, locked AND that they are 100% responsible for EVERYTHING.

Good luck man! Keep up updated on this *****. I HATE places like that.

I have to agree. I am pretty sure that once you leave your car in someone else's hands it becomes their responsibility to take care of your ride. I also make sure that my car is stored indoors when I take it somewhere for work too. Too late for you now, but it helps for the future. Don't back down from this shop. I'm reasonably sure that any lawyer would be glad to take this case for you. Good luck.

I'm going to let this post go unabated for the time being. However, you have posted this on all other boards and you will get plenty of exposure, so I am notifying everyone that I reserve the right to close this at my discretion down the line.

You might want to post at the following websites also:

Things like this happen every day. There are bad people out there and we "good people" have to recognize that it can happen to you. I am no exception. I had my stereo ripped off, which included my deck, pre-amp EQ, FOUR amplifiers and an electronic crossover, out of my own garage two years ago. Because the car was in my garage, it was not locked.

Accept that this kind of thing can and will happen. All I can say is good luck and I hope you have insurance.

I am closing this post because there was NO need for you to post it in every single tech forum. I feel for you and your troubles, but if every person on this site spammed ALL of the sections when they had a problem, there would never be any room for tech posts. This post would have been most appropriate in the "Aftermarket Vendor Review" as it speaks volumes about the customer appreciation at that particular shop. In any case, reposting the same topic in multiple sections (most of which are not topic related) is a sure way to get your threads locked and in some cases your account banned. I hope things work out for you, but next time use a little more common sense in your posting.

(FYI, I have deleted most of these posts from other boards, so don't go whining to the moderators about them deleting your posts as they had nothing to do with it).
