There is too much out there to list, search the net and the big chain book stores for Camaro books. If you are certain that you want an 85 Z28, then buy a shop manual (GM, not chiltons) for the 85 Camaro. Also the Camaro White Book is a must have.
First-Project, welcome to the boards. An 85 camaro is not a hard car to rebuild. It all depends on what your plans and dreams for it are. the good thing is that there are still plenty of parts available from GM, and there are millions of these cars out there.
Just curious.. 85z28..... irocz? tpi, carb? auto/manual?

manual of course, no other way to go...the only thing that makes me worry is engine and trans work, im starting from scratch with knowledge of cars, i dont 'know anything about anything as far as sport cars from engines to what the hell 350c means..how compatiable things are im totally clueless...

The best way to learn is by doing. I agree with labrat that you need to get a GM shop manual for which ever car you get. It is a little expensive but it is well worth it for the information that it contains. Also you might want to to make friends with other Camaro owners in the area that can help you and vice-versa on theirs. You can learn alot this way.
