I just bought a 91 GTA. The sticker inside the console with the RPO codes is missing. Can it be replaced? If so, how? The car has leather but other than that is is sparsely equipped, no steering wheel controls, standard radio, etc... Any help on this car would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

....on a 1991 gta the SPI label is in the storage compartment in the back of the car. Hope you find your Y84....
I thought they were always in the center console, you can see where mine used to be.
All I want to know is if GM or the dealer can take my VIN number and give me all of the RPO codes that this car has.
Thanks

....all you can see in your console is where a sticker was. It was more than likely a sticker with the number for your wheel locks. In 1987-1990
GTA's had the SPI in the console. In 1991-92 they were found in the locking compartment in the hatch area. As far as a dealer geting your RPO codes, yes you can get your RPO codes from them.

Big help Razor, thanks. It was in the LH storage compartment. There must be a sticker missing from the console though, you can see where one was. Anyhow, the car does have the Y84 RPO.
Thats good enough for me.
Thanks

Cars built in 1990 have the label in the console, but the VIN's list them as the 1991 model year. Keep in mind they built the 1991 model year cars for nearly 2 years. The early 91's have the SPID in the console. The late 91's and 92's have the SPID in the trunk glovebox.
On the subject of the locking lugnuts... the lugnuts, key, the sticker, wallet card, and ordering card, as well as an information card were shipped in a heavy plastic bag in the trunk or rear glovebox when the car was delivered new. In many cases the dealership installed the lugnuts and left the rest in the rear glovebox, or tucked the cards in with the owners manual.

I don't want to be a party pooper but I wanted to clear something up:
All GTA's will have Y84, but NOT all Y84 cars are GTA's. From 1982 to 1984, the code Y84 was used to denote a Trans Am as being a limited Recaro Edition with special Recaro bucket seats, etc. They made very few of them; 2000 or less per model year. Y84 has been used in other generations too, before and after thirdgen, when there was no GTA. My black & gold car shown below is a 1982 Recaro Edition T/A with Y84, and obviously it's not a GTA
hope this helps

...hey Drew can you provide pictures of 1991 GTA's with SPI labels in the center console???? I have never had the pleasure to see a 1991 GTA with one in the console as you describe. It would be nice to add to my files that I keep....

my rpo's are in the back storage compartment. In (late)91-92 were all f bodies rpo's in the back storage compartment, or is it only firebirds? I was under the impression that all camaro rpo's were in the console.

In mid year 91 they started putting the SPI labels in the rear so some 91's will have them in the center console however ALL 92's will have them in the rear...
