I'm definitely going to put the decals on the IROC Convertible. What I need is the exact location for the door decals/stripes.

I'm very much after factory original-style, so I need the ones that would look as if they were placed by the factory.

Anyone know where they go, or where I can get the exact placement measurements?

PS - I'm going with the silver/black decals.

 

Just an FYI,
I measured the placement of the decals on my 87 for someone once and found that both sides of the car have different measurements. I'm referring to the height of the decal above the GFX. One side sat slightly higher than the other and one side was also placed further back on the door than the other. My car has never been repainted and the decals are the original.

I don't know if there is an exact "factory" placement based on my own experiences.

 

I agree. On my 89 Iroc, they are not exact, but pretty close. I'd measure for ya, but it's at the bodyshop. I do know that 88-90 Irocs had the door decal towards the back of the car, as opposed to 85-87, where the decal was towards the front. Most of the cars I've seen have the decal centered between the door molding and the GFX, so when the stripes are on, it looks like it sits towards the bottom.

This pic is straight outta the 89 brochure....There's no door molding, but you get the idea...

 

If you get new GM ones (maybe possible, maybe not) they have some sort of locating template printed on the backing paper.

 

I am buying GM ones, so I'll look for the template - that'd be perfect. That brochure photo sure helps though. Thanks.
