Production Sequence Question

Model Year: 1988
Assembly Plant: Van Nuys
Production Sequence: 158488

I was wondering how I determine what # my car was in the total production of IROC convertibles that year ?
I know there were 3,761 IROC Convertibles produced in ’88, but is there a way to determine the number my car is ?
Thanks for any help with this.
Alex

Sequence number is for ALL F-bodies, not particular models (ie Iroc, or RS). As far as I know, there is no way to figure out what you want to know..

Is there a way to find out where the sequence number started for each year? My sequence number is 201230. It was made in March of '90 and its a '91. I have always been curious exactly what number they started on and what day for the '91s.

Production sequence numbers for '91 Pontiac started at ML200001. For Chevrolet ML100001. I do not have a specefic day for the start of '91 production, but March '90 sounds correct and ran all the way through August '91.

trial and error by looking at car vins basically. most (but not all) thirdgen years had production of under 100,000 per plant, oper year, per model. for example 87 norwood camaros.. way under 100,000 made. so take the last FIVE digits of the vin and turn them all to zero's, and then look at the last SIX digits.. that is the first VIN for that year, that plant, that model. I probably did more to confuse you here than anything but hopefully not . GT
