Disk brakes were only included in the WS6 package in earlier years 82-85(?).

You must have the 305/auto. You could not get rear disks with the 305/auto combo, only the 305/5-spd or the 350/auto...

i would just find a rear end (10 bolt) with posi and disk brakes and swap that in..

ws6 was more suspension oriented like springs and sway bars..

Around the time the L98 became available I believe, not sure on the exact year though. It could have been 87 when the L98 came out but I'm not sure.

I had a 87 Iroc with a 305 TPI, G92 and 4 wheel disc brakes. It was an automatic.

Pherhaps it was just a 91/92 thing on Firebirds then because I can look at my 92 brochure right now and it says that you cannot have rear disks with the 305/auto combo and I know 91 would be the same...
