Anybody know if the lower body stripes from the '82/'83 T-A's they sell on www.autografics.com are the same as the stripes on an S/E? Dont have my bird close at hand, so i cant check for myself. Heres a link to the pic....

That is a tough call because I don't know a whole lot about 85-86 S/E and I hardly ever see any original examples. But I am going to guess 85-86 S/E had its own unique package. I remember seeing an 85 S/E with "Firebird" door decal, among other things I had never seen before.
I can tell you *for sure* that 82-84 S/E had its own unique stripe package in a variety of different color schemes, making each color scheme all the more rare. It's a triple gradient stripe w/ 3 colors on each car. I have never seen them reproduced *anywhere*
so once it's gone, it's gone.. that's why you rarely ever see any good examples..
Here's a few examples:
from left to right, top to bottom:
82 S/E, Light Jadestone w/ Jadestone trim (lower color is the same as the green 92 Firehawk). should have jadestone gradient stripes, but has had greyscale stripes applied, which are incorrect
82 S/E, Black with Charcoal trim. Stripes are correct greyscale gradient.
82 S/E, blue with light blue lower trim. Hard to tell but stripes appear to be correct blue gradient.
84 S/E, Beige with gold trim. Stripes are correct gold/brown gradient.
84 S/E, Black with Charcoal trim. Stripes appear to be correct greyscale gradient. they look "upside down" from the 82 black s/e, so I don't know.
84 S/E, different car, same paint as above.
so if the 85-86 is anything like the 82-84, it's going to have unique decals which you cannot buy anywhere at any price, unless you have them custom-made. I hope I'm wrong..

As much as it sucks, im pretty sure youre right. Its gonna be a couple years before i can get some paint on it, so hopefully by then ill be able to get some custom stripes done well. Gonna be $$$$. And you can barely see it in my sig, but ive got the Firebird S/E door decal. Thanks for the info.
Oh yeah, and if I ever do find somebody that can replicate them, ill definitely put the word out here, maybe a group buy or something. I know there are people looking for them.
