Any yellow '86 IROC's come with black side moldings?
I've seen yellow '85 IROC's with the black side moldings (door guards) from the factory. How bout any '86's? Or did they always have body-color side moldings?

I wish I could answer the question definitively, but can't. I'll give you the facts as I know them.
The 1986 GM Camaro brochure states black side moldings were used on all Camaros. However, I purchased a white 1986 Z28 new in August, 1986. It had white side moldings. I verified this by looking at a couple of pics I still have of it. This car however, was built very late in the 1986 model year run. This may be pertinent because color-keyed moldings were used in 1987 on Sport coupes with the LT option and Z28's with and without the IROC-Z option. The 1987 Sport Coupes did come with black moldings with no options for color-keyed pieces, as did 1986 SC's.
GM has been known to start using "new" parts on the latter part of the previous year's run. This may be why my '86 had white moldings; they were actually meant for 1987.
I'd suggest posting a survey for all 1986 Camaro owners and ask for:
Model (SC, Berlinetta, Z28, IROC-Z)
Molding Color
Hope this helps somewhat.

All 85s had the black moldings. All 86s that I've seen have had a narrow painted molding. I haven't yet seen a stock 86 with the black moldings, though that's not to say that they don't exist. All of the 88+ cars got the wide painted molding. 87s I'm a bit unsure of, but I suppose they should have the narrow painted moldings.

My 86' IROC had the thin, black rubber moldings. It was a black car, but the moldings didn't seem to be painted black, just natural black rubber. The car was built 10/85 which would support Willie's theory.

You can get them at classic industries. They have them in about 10 colors....EXCEPT for yellow. I might get them in black. I know some don't like it like that but I don't think it will look too bad. It would look better than white.
