305 for a GTA???

A few days ago a friend and I were looking at a 'GTA' with auto tranny at this used car dealership. THe guy working there was saying that it had a 350, but looking at the VIN # and looking at the RPO sheet. but what would u know it said Lb9. From my understanding all GTA's were 350 autos. So all I am wondering is did any GTA's come with 305s??

Yes, the LB9 (305 TPI) was an option for the GTA.

....yup its a great trivia question....I believe that 1989 was the only year like that with the GTA . 1987-88 and 1990-92 all had provisions for LB9/MD8 but 89 was exempt. What I want to know is why????

The 5.0L TPI/700R4 combination was not available on the GTA in either 1989 or 1990.

I have/had (its a long story) a PHS documented 1990 GTA with the 305 TPI/700R4 combo. I don't think I would own the only one like it. There must be more than one 1990 GTA with this combo out there. Anyone?????

Unless you're the same person with a different username on here. Hard to tell when people keep their entire profile private...

There must be more than one of these cars made and Frankie never got back to me so I thought I would see if someone else knew anything on the issue.

More so for the 89's considering the 1990 GTA's a fewer given GM cut the model year early.
