http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...or=&cardist=17

This car is only 17 miles from my house and I am still shopping for a 3rd Gen, barely missed an 88 Formula 305HO w/ 5spd at the Auto Fair in Charlotte NC where the guy sold it just as I came up to talk to him. Well could anyone tell me what this is????

It's a Firebird SE.

A base-model car as far as the driveline is concerned (305 TBI), with some trim and comfort options.

What kind of info are you looking for?

SE stands for Special Edition. Like RB83L69 said it is a base Firebird with some confort options. Nothing too terribly special about it.

Well there is something fishy about it....

The S/E was discontinued after 1986.

I would check the car's VIN and see what year it actually is.

There are not too many 85-86 S/E's out there....

That car is NOT an SE. 1986 was the last year for a thirdgen Firebird SE. That appears to be a black Firebird with an (85-92) TransAm hood on it. The 85/86 SE hood does not have the small vents at the side/back of the hood.

Oh well, I wouldn't have known any of that, beyond merely what it was (or was claimed to be anyway).... I have no interest whatsoever in that type of car, compared to the ones that came set up to run good.

But that doesn't mean it's not a good car or any of that. Not everybody has the same tastes that I do. You might find it to be entirely adequate.
