Fuel tank Capasity
Based on how often I fill my tank, I think it's more like 9.5!
I usually only get about 150 miles to a tank. I need to keep the foot off the "GO" pedal.
The answer is approximately 16 gallons. In some years it was posted as 16.2, 15.8 and 15.5, so the above reply at 15.5 might be what was listed for your year/body car. Get gas at 1/4 tank and you won't need to worry about it.

I have read where the 1LE cars and the TTA cars got a larger tank, (18 gal) BUT I have yet to actually confirm that in the parts catalogs

EITHER: your name sais it all, OR I would never go back to that station, considering that they might not be measuring a gallon to be a gallon. I guess there would be a possibility that someone had put a 1LE tank in your car...
Something to consider that your fuel system by the time you figure your fuel lines is about an extra half to full gallon. Then there is the filler neck. If I park with my car on a slight hill where the filler neck is on the high side of the hill, I can usually get a little extra fuel in my cars.
