When new probably not. Now it might be a little rare since it is hard to find an 82 T/A in decent condition. Does your car have 14" wheels or 15" wheels? 4 wheel disc?

Yea, it is the bowlingball wheel caps. It doesnt have 4 wheel discs, which i didnt know was kinda rare. I know that leather was ony available in 82, which mine have. Was vinyl available that year too or just leather? thanks

Are you sure CFI required WS6? Because disc brakes in 82 are rare as they apparently ran out. My car is an LG4 with WS7. I would think it would be more rare WITH rear discs. LittleTAkid82 just said his car doesn't have discs (and he has the LU5)

As has been said, it's rarer now because most of these cars are long since dead. I did see a black/gold 82 T/A with leather PMD's a few weeks ago, but it was beat up bad. I doubt I'll ever see one again.

How many miles is your car? What shape? Pictures would be neat!

my ta is in great shape, paint is faded a little bit, which is original, the front drivers seat is ripped some, the trans is broke so were putting a th350 in it, original 305 has rod knock, which were selling on ebay along with the original wheels, AND IT DOESNT HAVE T-TOPS, and we took the louver off, which was wavy so we threw it away, and thats all i can think of... i will post pics in next reply of mine. ALSO IT HAS 93K original

"If it doesn't have 4-wheel disc, it would be even rarer."

4 wheel disc is very rare on non Recaro 82 Trans Am's because of the shortage. Most regular T/A's came with the WS7 package.

All my info backs up 82 Recaro's last post. The rear disks were saved for Recaros. The Crossfire were suposed to have WS6, but if one was built within the shortage period, it would have WS7.

The car to find, if it (they) even exist would be a real Recaro with WS7. The story goes that disks were saved for Recaros. But, who knows, a large volume dealer on the phone, a Poed plant manager, it's posible.........but not likely.

In hindsight............be happy you have the drums. The disks are horrible unless it was owned by a very conscientious owner who religiously used the e-brake. And that's not an easy find with all automatics. The prices for the rear hardware is crazy. I mean INSANE. The drums however will have trouble free braking and last a lifetime. I like my drums so much, i moved them to a 9-bolt, and moved the "before and after" brake set-up that came with the 9-bolt to the scrap pile.

Kid, Crossfires ARE cool. If i had one, it would be setting on top of a nice 350. They have a bad rep. It's a lot of BS. Some company re-works them and from what i understand, they run fantastic. If you can't find the company through this site, find a Corvette (C-3) site.
