z28 RPO
z28 RPO
I was looking under my console today, and saw my RPO codes. But I was desturbedto find there was no Z28 on it. The car was sold to me with my belief it was a 83 Camaro 305HO Z28. When I gave the VIN to my insurance company they also said the car was a Z28. If looked it over, has all the Z28 badges and has the 305HO badges as well.
how can I tell if I own a true Z28, the engine and tranmission have both been swapped out. All the guages, seats, and dash have been replaced. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

An 82-83 didn't come with RPO codes in the center console. The RPO sheet first came on the F-body in 84. Look at the VIN number on the sticker and see if it matches yours.

He's right. The console was swapped in if its an '83. My '83 HO doesn't have that sticker, nor should it.

Also if the car was a true L69 (H.O.) car it would have to be a 5 speed with 3.73 rear gears, and the 8th digit of your vin would be a G, if the 8th is a G then your car is for sure a H.O. Z/28.
