hey i just picked up a 1990 gta. IT's 350 tpi in it. But on the info it says that from 1990-1992 that t-tops and the l98 weren't avaliable? can someone shed some light. thanks

 

I think you could get T-tops with the L98 but you couldnt order G92 for it. I would imagine the same is for a TA but im not positive. The only thing I can think of to do is run the RPO codes through the decoder and see what they say. Is it possible that the T-tops are aftermarket??

 

I am pretty sure that if you specify G92 you do lose the ability to get T-Tops. How I know this is a friend of mine requested G92 and L98 and they wouldn't let him have T-Tops. Then on another friends car he has L98 and T-Tops. But he does not have G92 or rear disc.

Come to think of it I have never seen a G92 T-Top L98.

 

ive seen a 88 L98 t-tops..with disks but with 2.73 gears..

maybe its that torque multiplacation thing...(the gears avail with t-tops)

 

I doubt that as TTA's were available with tops and have more torque.

More than likely a weight/CAFE thing.

 

i think my tops are an aftermarket job the say C&C on the ( cars and creations) wasn't asc the only ones to do the tops for gm?

 

I know for sure that there are some 5.0L TPI manual cars with G92 and also 5.7L TPI cars with G92 and T-tops. The ones I've seen have the aftermarket T-tops by C&C.

well in 1990 there was like only 1,400 gta's made right? because it was a half year. SO how rare do u think my car is 1 of 400-600? just curious
