i have seen some posts on here about recaro seats, yesterday i found a 82 trans am with recaro sears in it for sale. whats the big deal with them?? what r they worth? i am gunna be takeing a look at the car today and find out the price, i just wanna no should i take those seats??? should i grap the car, it not really in bad shape at all.

 

The seats alone aren't worth much. The deal is that pontiac made a special Recaro edition way back when. I don't believe this option adds more than a couple hundred dollars on blue book value unless its mint condition.

 

In 82-84, it wasn't just Recaro seats, it was a Recaro package. Called a Recaro Trans Am. In 85-86 you could still order the seats for T/A's.

Honestly, the seats were the only special big thing. It was a totally optioned out T/A. The only other special things they had were Recaro lettered door handle inserts. In 82 they had gold Turbo Cast wheels with gold stickered hubcaps. Approx. 2000 Recaro T/A's made in 82.

IMO, they're only worth money to people who know what a Recaro T/A is, and that's not many. Very unique though! I think those T/A's look amazing!
