real iroc or not

hey how can i make sure if my 89 camaro convert is a real iroc if its in the vin what digit tells me and what should that digit say please help

Look at you RPO codes. If you have RPO Z28, it's an IROC-Z.

In 89 there were only 2 model choices, IROC and RS. RS models were not available with TPI, so if you've got TPI it's an IROC. If you've got TBI it could go either way. Check your RPO codes and look for Z28.

found the codes thanks. now my cousin wants one just like mine he says he found one but it does not have the big iroc on the door but it does have all other emblems inside and out it also does not have the z28 rpo in the console and the owner insists that it is a real iroc with some kinda decal delete option can this still be an iroc with no rpo code and is 3000 worth it if its an rs needs paint thats all

There IS a decal delete RPO DX3. ...at least for '89.

Regardless, you will still have the z28 RPO.

You can check all the RPO's here.


... and of course, go to the main www.thirdgen.org page, and run the vin#. That's the BEST way. The RPO sheet could possibly be from another car.
